In 2025, Special Operations partnered with Fiona Apple to produce the poignant music video for Pretrial (Let Her Go Home), which highlights the devastating effects of pretrial detention.
Special Operations worked closely with criminal justice reform nonprofit Zealous to connect with women whose lives have been impacted by this injustice. To amplify their voices, Special Operations created a web portal using MASV where these women could securly upload images from their home lives—images that became the heart of the video. The raw, real footage from these women’s personal stories powerfully brought to life the song’s message.
Launched during the week of Mother’s Day, the video made headlines, drawing widespread attention to the cause and creating a wave of awareness. It also marked Fiona Apple’s first new music in five years, reigniting her impact in the industry. The campaign not only spotlighted an urgent social issue but also sparked meaningful conversations about reform.
We also created a raw and personal 'Coming Soon' teaser post on social media to build excitement and raise awareness among Fiona's loyal fanbase.
